Ground rules
Applies to every advisor in every debate. Use it to set how they argue and when to wrap up.
Saved POVs
Write a point of view once, then load it into any advisor from its Role section. Loading copies the text, so you can still tweak it per advisor.
No saved POVs yet.

About
Senate is a council of artificial intelligences. Several advisors argue a topic from different points of view, so you can see the trade-offs before you decide.
How to use it
- Get an API key from the AI provider you use (Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenRouter).
- In Settings, add an advisor: a name, your key, and a role. The role is the point of view they argue from, so make it specific.
- Add at least two advisors who disagree. You can save roles as POVs and reuse them.
- Optionally, write ground rules that apply to every advisor.
- On the home page, press Start a debate. Enter a topic, add images if you like, and pick your advisors.
During a debate
Advisors take turns in rounds. After each round you can reply to steer them, or just continue. You can pause, stop, ask for a joint answer from all the advisors, and export the debate as a Markdown file. At the end, advisors can give final votes, and a neutral summary is written. Finished debates are saved in this browser.
Privacy
- Senate has no server, no accounts, and no analytics.
- Your keys, advisors, POVs, and saved debates are stored only in this browser. “Clear all data” in Settings erases them.
- When a debate runs, your topic, images, and conversation are sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you chose for each advisor, under that provider’s terms. Free API tiers may use your content to improve their products, so keep sensitive personal details out of your topics.
- The site is hosted by a third party that may keep standard access logs (such as IP address and browser type) when the page loads. Senate itself does not collect or see them.
- Set a spending limit on your API keys, and revoke a key if you ever used it on a shared computer.
Good to know
AI advisors can be wrong or one-sided, and their output is not professional, legal, medical, or financial advice. You are responsible for any costs on your own API keys.
Affiliation
Senate is an independent project and is not affiliated with Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, or OpenRouter.
